Data Protection
Define purpose, permissions, data location and processing responsibility throughout the lifecycle.
Data-lifecycle controls
| Stage | Required control |
|---|---|
| Intake | Deposit authority, minimization, MIME and allowed fetch targets |
| Storage | Encryption, storage rights, residency and key lifecycle |
| Access | Tenant/object permissions, redacted logs and authorized exports |
Renewal | Authorized reread and alerts before access loss |
| Exit | Holds, copies, acknowledgement and disposition |
Control evidence
- Authorization matrix and tenant-isolation test results.
- Contractual data inventory, location, processors and data rights.
- Deployment-scoped patch, vulnerability and change management.
- An ISMS certificate is not a test result for every control in a particular LTANS deployment.
Deployment-specific data decisions
| Element | Handling |
|---|---|
| Data set | Classify bytes, metadata, evidence and logs with separate owner/purpose/access. |
| Channel and residency | Record origin/destination, subprocessors and backup residency; company address does not determine data location. |
| Rights and exit | Reconcile data requests with applicable retention/holds; deletion needs a scoped decision. |
| Acceptance record | Agree custody, roles, access audit, export and replica handling under the contract. |
